year, the volume of the pharmaceutical market in Kazakhstan amounted to 949.8 billion tenge, of which
domestic production – 144.3 billion tenge. Share of domestic production in the domestic market
amounted to 14.4%, reports the correspondent of the business information center Kapital.kz from
link to the press service of the department. “Of these, in the procurement system of the Single Distributor, the turnover
pharmaceutical products amounted to 436.9 billion tenge, of which domestic production
– 137.5 billion tenge or 31.5%,” he said. The Vice Minister recalled that the President had set the Ministry of Health
the task of increasing the share of domestically produced drugs to 50%
on the domestic market by 2029. “There are 193 domestic producers in Kazakhstan, of which
the top 10 were determined: by medicines; medical products
and medical equipment, they make up the largest share in domestic
production. Currently, the possibility of reloading them with
taking into account the existing potential of the production capacities of these enterprises,” –
explained the vice minister. To develop the industry, work is underway with
foreign investors to localize 29 new projects in Kazakhstan
production of medicines and medical products. “Long-term agreements have been signed with such companies as: Roche – drugs for the treatment of oncological diseases, Pfizer – 20-valent
pneumococcal vaccine, an investment project is being developed with AstraZeneca – drugs for the treatment of oncological, autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases. Also concluded
agreement of intent between the ministry and Philips – portable
Ultrasound equipment, GE HealthCare – high-tech diagnostic
medical equipment,” said Zhandos Burkitbaev. The Vice Minister added that the digitization of the public procurement process in the regions, carried out by medical organizations, will allow a projected increase in the share of
domestic production up to 20%. Currently, the share of government procurement
domestic products account for 14.4%. Zhandos Burkitbaev proposed: – The Center for Electronic Finance of the Ministry of Finance should accelerate the completion of digitalization of procurement procedures; – in regional development plans, to consolidate
akimats indicator for priority purchase of domestic pharmaceutical products; – bring National registration dossiers into
compliance with the requirements of the EAEU rules, ensure
promotion of pharmaceutical products of domestic manufacturers in the EAEU countries.
